Program
The three-phase program opened with an orientation session in Washington, DC, where the participants met with senior women in government, academia and business, including Senators Hillary Clinton and Kay Bailey Hutchison, Secretary Elaine Chao, and Under Secretary Karen P. Hughes. The second phase paired each international participant with one of FORTUNE’s Most Powerful Women Leaders. For three weeks, American and international participants worked together in mentoring relationships to share the skills and experiences necessary for strengthening women’s leadership. The program concluded with a debriefing in New York City that included meetings at Good Morning America and Oxygen Media. The 2008 FORTUNE program is slated to take place from April 28 through May 22, 2008. Thirty-five mentees from around the world are expected to participate.
