Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars
Candidates should be accomplished teachers and scholars seeking to increase their knowledge of the United States with the purpose of enhancing their scholarship and ultimately improving courses focusing on the United States at their home institutions. Candidates are drawn from all regions of the world and must be fluent in English.

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders
Candidates should be 18 to 22 years of age, show a sustained level of high academic achievement, and be greatly skilled in their field of study. Candidates must demonstrate a serious interest in learning about the United States as well as a commitment to community service in their home country. Candidates must be proficient in English, with the exception of those applying to select Western Hemisphere Student Leader Institutes which are conducted in Spanish.

How to Apply
Interested persons should contact the Public Affairs section of their local U.S. Embassy for up-to-date information about Study of the U.S. programs. U.S. Embassies manage the selection and nomination of candidates, as well as organizing travel to the U.S. In some countries, candidates may also selected by a binational Fulbright Commission.


The Study of the U.S. Branch does NOT accept direct applications.

 


Approximately 650 people from 100 countries participate in Study of the U.S. Institutes each year.
